TECHNOLOGY

Interface Biologics (IBI) develops novel biomedical polymer technologies that enhance the safety and effectiveness of implantable medical devices (a $US 90 billion annual market) by reducing thrombosis, inhibiting infection and providing programmable delivery of pharmaceuticals and biologics. The name, Interface Biologics, comes from our expertise and knowledge of the molecular level interface between the body and implantable medical devices.

Our technologies are compatible with a wide range of medical materials, pharmaceuticals and biologics, allowing for widespread adoption across many specialties including cardiology, urology, radiology, oncology and orthopedics. By changing only the surface of the product, the application of IBI polymers does not disrupt the structural integrity of the underlying device.

Anti-thrombogenic Devices Self-locating fluoro-oligomer additives that passivate the surfaces of medical polymers and reduce platelet adhesion and activation, fibrinogen adsorption and thrombus formation.
Programmable Drug Delivery Devices Pharmaceutical agents are either built into the backbone of the polymer, or incorporated within the polymeric structure. The polymer composition can either be coated on polymeric or metallic devices or it can be designed into the device for transient or sustained drug release.

Interface Biologics has demonstrated capability to apply its patented biomedical polymer technology towards the generation of high value added combination devices both of our own design and of our medical device manufacturer partners.
