Interface Biologics Announces Expansion of Senior Management Team

is pleased to announce the appointment of Bunmi Dosunmu as Vice President-Finance, the appointment of Frank Shannon as Vice President- Clinical and Regulatory Affairs and the promotion of Mark Steedman to the position of Vice President- Business Development.
Ms. Dosunmu comes to Interface Biologics with 15 years experience in finance, corporate and operational management having provided effective direction and leadership in areas of treasury and financial management, business planning, cost control, IT and administration. In her most recent role, Ms. Dosunmu worked as a Finance Consultant with UCB Pharma Canada Inc. and was responsible for setting up the finance and accounting function of the company. Prior to UCB, she was the Controller at OccuLogix Inc. and was involved in that company’s US$100 Million Initial Public Offering on the TSX and NASDAQ in December 2004 - the largest healthcare IPO in Canadian market history. Ms. Dosunmu is a Chartered Accountant and holds a B.Sc in Accounting.
Mr. Shannon joins Interface Biologics with more than 17 years of clinical development, regulatory and medical marketing experience in the international pharmaceutical, medical device and contract research industries. He has led the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of numerous clinical programs and outcomes research studies, including several clinical registries and disease management programs with industry, government and NGOs. Prior to Interface Biologics, Mr. Shannon was at i3 Innovus, an international CRO, where he led operations for late phase research in Canada and clinical registry programs, globally. Previously, he held various national and global positions in clinical, regulatory and/or outcomes research at Occulogix, Inc., Boehringer Ingelheim, Hoffmann - La Roche, Genentech and Ciba-Geigy. He brings a wealth of industrial and academic experience in the therapeutic areas of infectious disease, urology, nephrology, ophthalmology and cardiovascular medicine. Mr. Shannon holds a B.Psych (hons) and continues his post-graduate research in clinical epidemiology at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences (ICES).
Mr. Steedman has led business development for Interface Biologics since its inception in December 2001. He negotiated licensing terms with the University of Toronto, prepared the terms of the initial seed capital funding, prepared the business plan and organized the company for operations. From September 2004 to August 2005, Mr. Steedman raised an additional $10 million for the Company, hired staff, worked closely with the scientists to guide product development, and was responsible for all business operations. During that period the company grew from 3 to 15 employees and recognized its first revenues. He is currently focused on business development activities with large medical device manufacturers, and has overseen the company’s intellectual property portfolio from early R&D to commercialization . Mr. Steedman holds degrees in Applied Science in Engineering, a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and an MBA.
